About the Company:
My Tier 1 developer client has built a strong reputation in delivering large- scale, high quality residential projects across London and the neighbouring areas. With a strong pipeline of work, they focus on sustainability and having a strong community impact, hence shaping well designed urban spaces.
About the Role:
Due to an increase in workload, they are now keen to expand the team by bringing in a Technical Manager to take the lead on a major regeneration scheme in West London, delivering between 1,500 and 2,000 new homes across multiple phases. The phase of the project is at the detailed design stage, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to manage it through to final completion. This role requires a strong technical background, and candidates from a consultancy background (architecture or engineering), with relevant experience would also be considered for this role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the technical design process from detailed design to project completion
Manage consultant teams, ensuring technical information is fully coordinated and compliant
Work closely with contractors and internal teams to maintain design integrity during construction
Ensure adherence to building regulations, planning conditions, and sustainability targets
Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the project lifecycle
Act as the key point of contact for technical queries and problem-solving on-site
Support procurement and value engineering to optimise design efficiency
Engage with stakeholders, including planning authorities and community groups, to uphold project standards
Requirements:
Proven experience in a technical management/ project lead role within residential construction
Full project lifecycle experience
Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and technical design standards
Experience managing large-scale, high-rise residential projects, ideally in London or another major UK city
Excellent coordination skills, working with multidisciplinary teams and external consultants
Ability to navigate complex design and construction challenges effectively
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
