We're working with a leading UK development consultancy that's looking to appoint a Principal Infrastructure/Civil Engineer to join their growing team in Bristol.
This is a standout opportunity for a technically strong and commercially aware engineer to take a leading role on a wide range of development infrastructure projects, with the backing of a supportive and ambitious organisation.
The Role
As Principal Engineer, you'll lead the design and delivery of infrastructure schemes for residential and mixed-use developments, covering highways, drainage, and site levels. You'll manage junior engineers, oversee project delivery, and liaise directly with clients and approving bodies.
Key duties include:
Leading detailed infrastructure designs (private and adoptable works)
Managing project workflow, budgets, and team resourcing
Securing technical approvals (S104, S38, etc.)
Producing designs using Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and MicroDrainage
Applying industry standards such as MfS, Building Regs, Sewerage Sector Guidance
About You
Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering (or similar), with 6+ years' experience
Chartered or working toward professional status (ICE or equivalent)
Strong background in residential development infrastructure
Proficient in Civil 3D and drainage design software
Confident communicator with project leadership experience
Full UK driving licence and access to a car
