With an increase in the pipeline of work, my client is keen to grow their design team in their London offices and they are seeking a dynamic, passionate Design Manager, who has experience working on medium to large size projects to join their team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead the design process from pre-construction to project completion
Coordinate with architects, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project delivery
Ensure designs comply with building regulations and client specifications
Identify and resolve design issues efficiently to keep projects on track
Collaborate with project teams to deliver value engineering solutions
Manage design changes, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines and budgets
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Design Manager, ideally with a main contractor (we welcome applications from consultants looking to make the move into design management too)
Strong knowledge of construction methods and regulations
Ideally have experience delivering projects in student accommodation, residential, healthcare, industrial, or lab sectors
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work under pressure
Proficiency in design software and construction documentation processes
