We're looking for an Associate Highway Engineer in Richmond, London!

Synopsis:

This role is ideally suited to a friendly, professional Senior to Associate level Highways Design Engineer who enjoys engaging with clients.

The role includes client liaison and overseeing the technical design of local authority highways and active travel projects.

Responsibilities:

As an Associate Highway Engineer, you will build close partnerships with key clients, lead an engineering sub-team, and oversee the work produced by your team to ensure it meets client requirements.

This is a client-facing role that will help you to continue building your network in the industry, while remaining technically involved.

Your role will involve:

  • Gathering technical requirements from contractors and local authorities.
  • Briefing your team on client requirements from a technical standpoint.
  • Overseeing the designs produced by technical design staff, comprised of engineers, and ensuring they are compliant with standards.
  • Mentoring and upskilling your team when required to get the best from them.
  • Supporting bids for tenders
  • Act as the main point of contact for contractors and local authorities.

Ideal Knowledge:

  • Prior experience as CDM Designer and Principal Designer for Local Authority & TfL Schemes relating to Highways and Active Travel.
  • Working knowledge of DMRB, MCHW, TSGRD, TSM and TfL Street Toolkit.
  • Previous experience of managing resources to produce deliverables on time and within budget.
  • Prior experience of Client Management, Portfolio Management, Pipeline Mapping, and Line Management.
  • Knowledge of bid production for tendering, and proposal writing.
