I am recruiting on behalf of a leading construction consultancy for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their growing infrastructure team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious early career QS to gain experience on a variety of different sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist senior QS staff with quantity surveying tasks
Prepare and maintain cost estimates, cost plans and cost reports
Analyze and measure various elements of infrastructure works
Process valuations, variation orders, and final accounts
Check and review sub-contractor and supplier payment applications
Monitor project costs against budgets and forecasts
Assist with contract administration and commercial support tasks
Gain exposure to procurement, tendering and project management processes
Take part in site visits and progress monitoring as required
Required Skills & Experience:
Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
1-2 years of relevant QS experience
Strong technical skills in measurement, estimating and cost control
Proficiency with QS software and Microsoft Office suite
Excellent analytical, mathematical and problem-solving abilities
Good attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to interpret drawings, contracts and specifications
Good verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to learn and develop QS expertise
